Energetic Shifts, Emotional Tension & Body Wisdom
For those who follow astrology, you’ll totally vibe with this post.
I don’t often go deep into astrology, mainly because I don’t see myself as an expert. Just someone who’s deeply fascinated by how planetary placements can influence our personal evolution and support us in becoming the best version of ourselves… if we’re willing to listen.
I’m a bit of an astrology geek, always reading and researching the latest updates across various platforms. One astrologer I consistently return to is Pam Gregory. With her background in psychological astrology, Pam brings a grounded and deeply insightful lens to her work. What I really appreciate is how she blends astrology with historical context and energetic awareness in a way that feels both expansive and practical. Her perspective often helps me make sense of what’s unfolding collectively and personally.
So why bring this up now? Because I’m really feeling the shift.
As of today, when this blog post goes live, five planets are in retrograde: Pluto, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury, and Chiron. With Chiron, the wounded healer, now joining the backspin, it’s adding another layer of truth-telling and illusion-clearing energy into the mix. On top of that, we are in the middle of the Lion’s Gate Portal, which peaks on August 8th. This cosmic alignment between the Earth, the star Sirius, and the Sun in Leo is known to activate higher consciousness, inner transformation, and accelerated manifestation. It’s one of my favourite times of the year—manifestation tends to speed up, so our thoughts really matter right now. It’s a powerful time to be mindful of how we focus our attention and where we channel our energy. If you are naturally sensitive or tend to carry other people’s emotional weight, this is where clear boundaries become essential.
This period might also feel like a ‘death and rebirth’ for some: an ending of a relationship, a job, or even a way of being that no longer aligns with who you are now. These endings can feel intense, but they are the very things that create space for the new to come in. We often forget that when we ‘lose’ something, it might just be life redirecting us towards something better aligned. Acceptance helps ease the grief. It softens the resistance to change, and when we return to a more neutral, grounded place, everything starts to flow again. Our hearts feel lighter, our bodies less tense, and our perspective clearer.
During times of emotional release or energetic shifts, we often experience physical discomfort, especially in areas like the chest, throat, shoulders, or hips. These can be signs of suppressed emotions, unresolved traumas, or long-held patterns finally rising to the surface. The location and intensity of physical pain can offer valuable clues about what’s still unprocessed or ready to be released.
Here are 6 ways to support yourself during this transformational time:
Daily check-ins – Take five minutes each day to tune in. Ask yourself: How am I feeling? What do I need right now?
Spatial energy – Clear your space and your energetic field. Try sound healing, smudging, salt baths, or simply spend time in nature.
Limit overexposure – Take breaks from the news, social media, or people who drain your energy. It’s okay to unplug.
Journal it out – Let your thoughts land on paper. Writing things out helps move stagnant emotions and offers clarity.
Try EFT tapping – When you’re feeling emotionally charged or physically tense, tapping can help you reconnect with your body and reset your energy. It’s especially helpful for:
Releasing limiting beliefs
Soothing emotional overwhelm
Exploring physical pain to uncover suppressed emotions or past memories\
A few phrases to get started:
“Even though I’m feeling overwhelmed right now, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
“This pain in my throat—what might it be holding for me?”
“It’s safe to let go of what’s no longer aligned with me.”
“I release what’s not mine to carry.”
“I am grounded, protected and open to what’s next.”
Move your body – Energy needs movement to flow. Gentle stretching, breathwork, walking, or practices like yoga or shaking can help release stored tension from the body. When we allow energy to move through us rather than get stuck within us, we begin to feel more open, regulated, and in tune with ourselves again.
